Homer’s population has grown faster than the rest of Alaska, but slower than the Kenai Peninsula Borough (KPB) overall. In general, Homer’s population is slightly older than KPB or Alaska totals, with seniors comprising a relatively larger share of the population. Like many other places in Alaska, Homer’s senior population has grown in recent years, but not as fast as most other communities. Although Homer has relatively fewer children, that age group has grown faster than the rest of Alaska.
